A Certificate of Completion is a downloadable record that verifies a document has been fully signed and the signing process is complete.
Every envelope completed in Annature automatically generates its own certificate — giving you a reliable, legally robust record of the entire signing event.
This certificate provides proof that:
All required parties have signed
The workflow is complete
The signing process meets legal and compliance requirements
It’s designed to offer clarity, transparency, and confidence for you and your recipients.
The certificate contains a comprehensive breakdown of the signing process, helping you validate and verify every interaction with the document.
Each signing session includes two unique identifiers:
Session ID
A randomly generated alphanumeric identifier that uniquely tracks each signing event. This ensures every transaction can be independently verified.
Fingerprint ID
A cryptographic hash created from key metadata such as device type, browser, and location.
This fingerprint helps guarantee the session’s authenticity and makes the record tamper-evident.
Together, these IDs protect document integrity and establish a secure, traceable record for compliance and verification purposes.
The certificate logs every stage of the signing journey, including:
When the document was first viewed
When each signature was applied
When the signing process was completed
This timeline gives you complete visibility over the envelope’s lifecycle and a defensible audit trail.
For additional verification, Annature captures:
The signer’s IP address
Device and browser information
These details support authenticity checks and can assist with forensic analysis if required.
A Certificate of Completion provides:
Legal assurance — supporting enforceability and compliance
Transparency — a clear, chronological record of actions taken
Trust and integrity — demonstrating that no step of the workflow has been altered
It’s your permanent, verifiable snapshot of the signing event.
