My check has been Pending for a long time
Most checks finish in about 30 seconds, but large companies and complex structures can take 5 to 10 minutes. Click the refresh button on your list of ownership checks to see the latest status. If a check is still Pending after 10 minutes, contact support with the company name and ACN.
Will I get an email when my check is finished?
Not at the moment. Check back on the Ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO) tab under Identity verification.
I can't find the company I'm searching for
Search results only include registered Australian companies. Try searching for the company's registered name, as recorded with ASIC, rather than its trading name.
Sole traders, partnerships, trusts and deregistered companies can't be checked.
The Enable product button is greyed out
Only the organisation owner can enable UBO checks. Ask your organisation owner to enable the product.
The Create check button isn't working for me
Read-only users can view ownership checks but can't create them. Ask an administrator to change your role to Standard or Administrator.
My check found no ultimate beneficial owners
That's a valid result. It usually means one of the following:
No individual owns 25% or more of the company, directly or indirectly.
Ownership sits behind a blocking entity, such as a trustee company, a nominee or a foreign company.

Why do the ownership percentages add up to more than 100%?
When shares are jointly held, each joint holder is treated as owning the whole holding, so no beneficial owner is missed. See joint holding.
Why wasn't a trust or foreign company investigated?
UBO checks use ASIC records, which cover Australian companies. Trusts aren't registered with ASIC, and foreign companies sit outside ASIC records, so the check stops at these entities and reports them as blocking entities.
Are UBOs screened against sanctions and PEP lists?
No. AML & CTF screening isn't included in a UBO check. Screen each identified UBO separately using AML & CTF screening.
How do I get updated results for a company?
Each check is a snapshot of ASIC records at the time it was run, and checks aren't monitored for changes. To get updated results, create a new check. New checks are charged.
Am I charged for associated checks?
No. Only the companies you request are charged. See requested and associated checks.
