Webhooks let Annature tell your system the moment something happens, such as a recipient signing or an envelope completing. Instead of repeatedly checking for changes, your system receives an HTTP POST request with the details as soon as the event occurs.
For example, you could update a deal in your CRM when a contract is signed, file the completed documents automatically, or alert your team when a recipient declines.

Setting up a webhook endpoint
Add your endpoint URL in Settings > Developers in Annature, or create one through the API.
You can register up to 100 endpoints, for example separate URLs for staging and production. Every endpoint receives every event from your organisation, so your system should ignore events it doesn't recognise, such as an envelope created in another environment.
Responding to events
Your endpoint must return a 2xx status code (for example 200 OK) within 10 seconds. Anything else, including a slow response, counts as a failed delivery.
To respond quickly:
Check the signature (see below).
Save the event or add it to a queue.
Return
200 OKstraight away, then process the event afterwards.
Retries and failures
If a delivery fails, Annature retries it once an hour for up to 72 hours. If it's still failing after three days, the endpoint is disabled automatically and the account owner is notified by email.
You can see and troubleshoot failed deliveries in Settings > Developers.
Security
Signature verification — every webhook includes an
X-Annature-Signatureheader. Use your endpoint's signing secret, found in Settings > Developers, to confirm the request genuinely came from Annature. This is optional, but strongly recommended in production.IP address — all webhooks are sent from
52.62.153.44. If your firewall restricts incoming traffic, add this IP address to your allowlist.
