If you're building Annature into a platform used by many businesses, there are two ways to set it up. Which one is right depends on whether your clients need their own relationship with Annature.
Option 1: Your clients have their own Annature accounts
Choose this option if your clients need to sign in to Annature themselves, for example to use the dashboard, manage templates, or manage their own plan and billing.
Use the Partner Program to create an organisation and account for each client from your platform. Each client:
Has their own Annature organisation, with their own branding, users and settings.
Signs in to Annature to manage their account, including upgrading their plan (required to continue sending envelopes after the 7-day free trial).
Has their relationship, and their billing, directly with Annature.
Partners can also sign clients in to the Annature dashboard from your platform automatically, so they don't need a separate password.
Option 2: You manage everything from one account
Choose this option if your clients never need to sign in to Annature, and your platform handles the whole experience.
All envelopes are sent from your own Annature account, and you brand each envelope for the client it's being sent on behalf of. To your client's recipients, the envelope looks like it comes from your client, not from you.
Annature charges you for the envelopes sent from your account.
How you charge your own clients is completely up to you.
Your clients don't need an Annature account, and don't have a relationship with Annature.
How envelope-level branding works
When you create an envelope through the API, include these keys in the envelope's metadata. Any you include replace your account's branding for that envelope only. Any you leave out fall back to your account's settings.
Key | What it does |
|---|---|
The sender's name, for example the adviser or agent sending the envelope.
The sender's email address. Recipients' replies go to this address.
The sender's phone number.
The business name. This is the name the email comes from, and it's used in the SMS message.
The business address.
The business website.
A link to the business logo.
The brand colour, as a hex code (for example
For example:
"metadata": {
"sender_name": "Jane Smith",
"sender_position": "Senior Adviser",
"sender_email": "[email protected]",
"sender_number": "0400 000 000",
"sender_business": "Smith Advisory",
"sender_website": "https://smithadvisory.com.au",
"sender_logo": "https://cdn.yourplatform.com/logos/smith-advisory.png",
"sender_colour": "#1A73E8"
}Branding works on envelopes created directly and on envelopes created from a template.
Things to know
Emails come from Annature's sending address. The email is sent from Annature's address (or your custom email domain, if you've set one up), with your client's business name as the sender name. Replies go to the
sender_emailyou supply.Host logos on a fast, public link.
sender_logomust be a publicly accessible image link, ideally on a CDN. If the logo can't be loaded within about a second, Annature uses the default logo instead.Colours must be valid hex codes. For example
#1A73E8or#FFF. Anything else is rejected.All values must be text. Supply every value as a string, including phone numbers.
Size limit. Envelope metadata can be up to 10 KB, not counting
sender_logo.Combine with your own references. You can include your own keys, such as a client or deal ID, alongside the branding keys. See Envelope metadata.
