Field Auto Placement allows Annature to automatically place fields onto documents using anchor texts. This helps reduce manual preparation and keeps field placement consistent across envelopes and templates.
Anchor texts are placeholder texts added to a document that tell Annature where fields should be placed.
For example, if your document contains {{signature}}, Annature can automatically place a Signature field in that location.
💡 Tip: Change the font colour of your anchor texts to white so they are not visible on the final document.
Field Auto Placement searches your document for matching anchor texts.
Common examples include:
{{signature}}
{{date}}
{{name}}
When configuring a field, you can link the field to an anchor text. Annature will then automatically position the field wherever that anchor text appears in the document.
You can configure Field Auto Placement directly within a template.
Add anchor texts to your document where fields should appear.
Example:
{{signature}}
{{date}}
{{name}}
Once complete, save the document and upload it to Annature as a template.
Navigate to Templates
Click Create
Upload your document
Add your recipient roles
Click Prepare documents
To configure a field:
Drag the matching field onto the document
Select the field
Click Placement
Click Configure Placement
Enter the anchor text exactly as it appears in the document
Click Confirm
Annature will automatically place the field onto the matching anchor text.
Repeat this process for any additional fields.
Once complete, click Save changes.
Field Auto Placement also supports multiple recipients.
Use unique anchor texts for each recipient.
Example:
{{signature1}}
{{signature2}}
This allows Annature to place the correct fields for each recipient automatically.
