Introduction to Annature’s Identity Verification Product

Annature's identity verification provides a fast, secure, and mobile-optimised way to confirm your client's identity. The entire process is completed on your client's phone — they simply take photos of their ID and, if required, a selfie. No printing, scanning, or in-person meetings required.

Powered by Stripe's trusted verification technology, Annature combines photo matching, biometrics, and data validation to deliver accurate results. All data is stored on-shore in Australia, and verifications are authenticated via SMS to ensure only the intended recipient can complete the process.

How it works

You create a verification request by entering your client's details — name, email, and mobile number. You can optionally apply your organisation's branding and enable additional checks such as a biometrics selfie. Once created, your client receives an email and SMS with a link to begin.

From there, the process is guided entirely on their mobile device. They authenticate with an SMS code, confirm their personal details, and select their ID type. The system walks them through taking photos of their document, helping them align it correctly for accurate capture. If biometrics were enabled, they also take a selfie for facial comparison against their ID photo. Once submitted, the verification is processed automatically and you're notified of the result.

Verification checks

Annature supports a range of verification checks depending on your compliance needs:

  • Know Your Customer (KYC) — Government-issued ID confirmation with personal data verification.

  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) — Screening against global financial crime and sanctions databases.

  • Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) — Identification against PEP and sanctions registers.

  • Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) — Terrorism-related watchlist screening.
