Identity verification 2.0 is the biggest update to Annature's identity verification product since it launched in 2022. It's a rebuilt experience designed around how our customers β particularly reporting entities under Tranche 2 β actually work.
You'll find it in the left-hand navigation under Identity verification 2.0. The page is split into two tabs:
Verifications β the full identity verification workflow (document check, biometrics, and optional AML & CTF screening).
AML & CTF screening β a dedicated view of every AML & CTF screening check across your organisation. This includes both standalone screening checks (run without a full identity verification) and screening checks that were run as part of a full verification. Everything lives in one place, regardless of how the check was initiated.
SMS with verification link. When you enter a mobile number, the default is to send an SMS containing the verification link β the same behaviour as envelopes. Your client can start from the SMS directly, rather than having to open the email first.
Biometrics and AML & CTF screening are on by default. Most identity verification customers are reporting entities, so these are now the sensible defaults. You can opt out per verification if they don't apply to your use case.
Email and SMS message customisation. You can personalise the messages sent when you create a verification, in the same way you customise messages when sending an envelope. Useful for reducing "is this legitimate?" hesitation from recipients.
Two new required fields β country of birth and nationality or citizenship. These help sharpen AML & CTF screening results, narrow down potential matches, and build a more complete KYC profile. They're captured even if you're not using AML & CTF screening.
Standalone AML & CTF screening. AML & CTF screening now runs two ways: as an add-on to a full identity verification (as it always has), or as a standalone check without a full identity verification. Both produce the same screening outcome, and both appear together in the AML & CTF screening tab. Standalone screening is often the right approach for existing clients β see Creating an AML & CTF screening for details.
Availability (formerly Sharing). Renamed with a refined workflow for how verifications are sent from the organisation level versus from a specific group.
When you run an AML & CTF screening check at Annature, ongoing monitoring is enabled by default β and it's free for the next 10 years. If a screened client later becomes a PEP or appears on a sanctions list, you'll be notified automatically.
Most AML compliance tools charge per client, per month for ongoing monitoring. We think that's ridiculous β ongoing monitoring should be part of doing the job properly, not a recurring add-on.
Your invoices now show two separate line items:
Identity verifications β the equivalent of what was previously called Standard.
AML & CTF screening β the equivalent of what was previously bundled into Enhanced.
The prices have adjusted proportionally β the total cost of a full verification with AML & CTF screening is identical to what you paid before. Separating the two components means AML & CTF screening can now be billed independently, which supports the new standalone screening workflow.
To send your first verification through 2.0, see Sending an identity verification.
For standalone screening, see Creating an AML & CTF screening.
