Annature's API is open, free to use, and covers the full platform: sending envelopes, placing fields, running identity verifications, collecting payments, and receiving events as they happen. There are no API fees or platform charges β with pay-as-you-go pricing, you're only ever charged per envelope you send for signing.
Full API reference, guides, and examples live at docs.annature.com.au.
In Annature, go to Settings > Developers.
Click Create new key in the top-right.
Name the key and click Create, then copy the ID and Key.
Treat your API key like a password β don't share it or commit it to source control.
Send envelopes programmatically β create and send envelopes from your own systems, with documents, recipients, and messages set via the API.
Place fields automatically β position signature and data fields using coordinates, or use anchors (unique text markers in your generated documents) so fields place themselves regardless of document length.
Receive events with webhooks β get notified the moment things happen: an envelope is opened, a recipient signs, an envelope completes, a verification finishes. Use these to trigger downstream workflows like filing signed documents or updating your CRM.
Run identity verifications β create verification requests and AML & CTF screening checks, and receive the results via webhook or API.
Working with Claude, Codex, or another coding agent? Point it at our LLM-ready API snapshot:
https://docs.annature.com.au/llms.txtIt's a plain-text summary of every endpoint β what it does, its parameters, and what it returns. Just give your AI the link:
Read https://docs.annature.com.au/llms.txt to learn the Annature API, then write me a script that sends a test envelope with one recipient and a signature field.
From there, the AI understands the full API and can generate accurate code without guessing.
A few real examples of things customers have built with the API:
A one-click "send for signing" button inside their own web app that creates an envelope and drops it in front of a client.
A CRM integration that automatically kicks off an envelope when a deal reaches a certain stage.
A completed-envelope notifier in Slack or Microsoft Teams, so the whole team sees when a big deal is signed.
An automatic filing system that grabs signed PDFs and files them into the right folder in Google Drive, Dropbox, or a practice management system.
A custom onboarding flow that generates a document from a template, sends it via Annature, and reacts to signing completion β all without a human involved.
None of these took weeks. Most of them took an afternoon.
Not every integration needs code:
Microsoft Power Automate β connect Annature to SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Dynamics, and hundreds of other apps with our Power Automate connector. See the full SharePoint sync walkthrough for a worked example.
Pre-built integrations β Xero, Xero Practice Manager, Xplan, FYI, HubSpot, and more are ready to connect under Settings > Integrations.
If you're building something and hit a wall, reach out via live chat or email [email protected] β our team is happy to help scope out your integration.
